This Isn’t Even Funny Anymore: Strong Winds And Rain Could Be Returning To Malta This Weekend
As Malta braces itself for two elections tomorrow, it looks like we also need to be bracing ourselves for some not-so-ideal weather… especially, poetically enough, as the islands vote.
While yesterday and this morning has been nothing but gloriously sunny (we’re actually looking at a hot 26°C for today, in fact), weather forecasts are predicting a quick and disappointing turn to windy days, especially over the second half of Saturday. In fact, the southeasterly winds making their way to Malta tomorrow (xita tal-ħamrija? Not again!) will steadily be going up from Force 3 to Force 6 and 7. Yes, seven. FFS weather, we’re a week away from June!
Because of that southerly direction, however, the temperature on Saturday evening will actually be the warmest low this weekend, sitting on a balmy 18°C.
As for Sunday, we could be looking at more of the same, but as the wind dies down and turns more towards the East, temperatures should stabilise at 23°C in the morning and 16°C at night.
