If you enjoyed last week’s rain and thunder, you’re in for a treat in the coming days.
This week’s forecast for Malta is all about rain, with every single day of the week showing precipitation chances of over 60%. Those percentages are set to gradually rise, culminating in a 90% probability of rain on Wednesday. Thursday is when the rain should be calming down, but precipitation chances will still be at a solid 80%.
As far as the temperature goes, this will also see a turn to the wintry over this week. Today’s highs of 21°C will be giving way to temperatures closer to 15°C, with Tuesday being the coldest day. Tomorrow, the fresh highs of 16°C are set to go all the way down to 12°C in the evening.
Thunderstorms will also be a possibility over the week, especially on Thursday, when the wind will be picking up to 40km/hr, which would place them bang in the higher parts of the Force 5 category, possibly even becoming 6 throughout the day.

There is, however, hope on the horizon, and it’s in store for the weekend.
Friday will see the chance of rain suddenly drop to 10%, with wind speeds halving down to 21km/hr. By Saturday, the sun will come out again to higher temperatures of 19°C during the day and around 15°C at night.
While the weather seems set to still be partly cloudy for the rest of the weekend, it’s definitely looking to be way better than the days before it.
So if you’ve got some plans for the week ahead, maybe wait until the weekend.
