From collapsed balconies to flooded buses and falling poles, Storm Helios is truly showing its wrath on the Maltese islands.

Three balconies situated in Għarb collapsed just a few moments ago onto six parked cars, causing heavy damage.

The destruction comes after an orange weather warning, which indicates severe conditions, has just been issued by the Met Office.

The latest incident occurred at around 2.15pm in the Gozitan village square of Għarb.

While the parked cars which sustained damages are near completely destroyed, thankfully no one was injured in the shocking incident.

Members from the Civil Protection Department went on-site to remove the boulders, while police investigations are still ongoing.

But that’s far from all that occurred today.

Malta’s coastal areas have been particularly hit, with videos sent to Lovin Malta showing everything from destroyed promenade bus stops in Sliema to a pole falling onto traffic in Gżira.

Videos taken aboard public transport have even shown how buses have flooded as a result of the surrounding roads filled to the brim with water.

And in St Paul’s Bay, just a few hours ago, a wall collapsed onto a parked car.

Damage to property and vehicles all over Malta keep being reported, with a photo sent to this newsroom showing the aftermath of a wall that came crashing down onto parked cars under it.

The incident happened this afternoon on St. George’s Street, just underneath the St. Paul’s Bay Bypass, with a car that was parked by the wall being heavily damaged as a result.

Meanwhile, more and more photos and videos were sent to this newsroom from all over the island, with everything from intense flooding to dangerous damages being spotted.

Malta’s Civil Protection Department is currently on high alert, to aid with any damages brought on by the storm.

Stay safe out there!
