Watch: Heavy Rain And Hail Hits Malta On 30°C August Day As More Thunderstorms Expected
Heavy rain has continued to hit a number of localities around Malta and Gozo, with some places even recording slight hail despite the hot 30°C summer day.
In footage filmed from Naxxar, what appears to be a small tornado could even be seen temporarily forming over Mosta, as thunder is now being heard across the islands.
Earlier this morning, rumbling thunder could be heard over the islands’ northern tips in Gozo’s Żebbuġ, with heavy rain hitting the sister island first before moving onto the mainland.

Thunderstorms are expected to continue hitting Malta throughout the day, with a possible thunderstorm also slated for tomorrow.
Despite this, warm temperatures are expected to persist, with tomorrow potentially even going up to apparent highs of 34°C.
Meanwhile, this weekend, which marks the end of August and the beginning of September, does not have any forecasted rain or thunder, as the Met Office is currently predicting three consecutive partly cloudy days.
