Watch: Malta Blanketed In White After Heavy Hailstorm Strikes Multiple Localities
A sudden hailstorm hit multiple localities in Malta this afternoon but has surprisingly spared sister island Gozo.
Photos sent to Lovin Malta show the affected areas blanketed in the thick hail.
Some of the affected areas included St Julian’s, Msida, Baħrija, Mellieħa, and Mosta.
Other places in Malta experience heavy rainfall, causing a water build up in the roads.
Carolina from Swieqi sent photos showing the chestnut-sized hail which was raining down on her locality. Another photo shows the Sliema promenade cloaked in white.
Ylenia in Iklin got creative with the hail and created an adorable snow man made of ice and gave him some cool accessories to match.
After about 10 minutes of the surprising and somewhat random hail storm, the skies quickly cleared up, making room for the sun.
