Watch: Maltese Islands Surrounded By Thunderstorm As Heavy Rain And Wind Persist

After a warm weekend kicked June off in a summery way, a thunderstorm surrounded and hit Malta today – and more heavy rain and wind are on their way.

Radar imagery shows the formation completely engulfing the islands as thunder can be heard across the nation.

In a post earlier today, Facebook forecasting page Aġġornament tat-Temp said more rain is predicted between today and tomorrow, with some heavier rain expected tonight and tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, strong northeasterly winds are set to not only persist but soon climb from Force five to six, with some even predicting that it will hit force eight tonight.

The weather is expected to improve by Wednesday’s public holiday, but in the meantime, be careful out there!
