Watch: Streets Flood During Yesterday’s Storm

Yesterday, the Maltese islands saw heavy rainfall impacting several locations which persisted for most of the afternoon.

According to the meteorological office, an average of 26mm of rainfall fell in just a few hours. This is around four times more than the climactic norm of the month.

Several streets were flooding yesterday, especially in Msida where traffic was brought to a standstill for a while as drivers manoeuvred slowly through the water.

It-Temp Madwarna highlighted this weather as Cyclone Ines which intensified towards the evening with force six to seven win coming from the north west direction. This wind is forecasted to persist today as well.
