Watch: Dramatic Sunrise Waterspout As Thunderstorm Surrounds Malta
Another waterspout has been spotted gracing the sunrise skies earlier this morning, as the sun peaked through colossal clouds.
Footage and photographs sent to Lovin Malta show the waterspout circling around Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq and Buġibba, at around 7am this morning.
One of the footage sent to Lovin Malta shows the very formation of today’s waterspout, with another footage showing when it was dissipating into thin air, as quickly as it formed.
Waterspouts occasionally form when cold air moves across and results in large temperature differences between the warm water and the overriding cold air.
The Maltese islands continue to be surrounded by intense thunderstorms, as multiple locations woke up to the rumbling thunder and rain. A number of intense storm and cloud formations are currently circling around Malta and Gozo.
