The Emergency Response Rescue Corps have announced that Xlendi Bay will be closed for swimming due to severe weather warnings.

“This marks the second closure this year,” the Corps explained. “While it’s always disappointing to see one of our beautiful bays out of use, we greatly appreciate the swift action by authorities to protect public health and address the underlying issues.”

Thunderstorms are forecast for today and tomorrow, with rain showers expected to continue throughout the weekend.

Earlier this week, a storm hit Malta, causing flooding in Xlendi and partially submerging cars in rushing water.

Please stay safe and exercise caution during the adverse weather
