We’re Going Paperless, Chris Fearne Says As Dingli Polyclinic Unable To Print Patient’s Reports

Healthcare professionals at the Dingli Health Centre are unable to print patient reports after being left in office without a functioning printer.

A rather frustrating situation that was brought up in parliament.

Light was shed on the issue by way of a parliamentary question asked by PN MP Ian Vassallo and directed to Minister For Health Chris Fearne.

However, the question seemed to have sparked some surprise from the Minister, who informed Vassallo that such practices should have long gone digital.

“The digital politics of the government is one that where possible, one promotes a shift to ‘paperless’ technology,” Fearne said.

Modern-day problems? Not for those absent a printer in 2022.

Speaking with Lovin Malta, Vassallo said his question came after healthcare workers at the health centre spoke out after their problems were ignored. In light of the given circumstances, they are unable to give patients their reports, he said.

Do you think the government should invest in a new printer at the Dingli Health Centre?
