A weather warning has been issued for Malta on Wednesday as heavy winds batter the islands.

Malta’s Meteorological Office issued a yellow wind warning for today, with East to Southeast wind expected to reach Force 4 and 5 and will be strong at times over the exposed areas of the Maltese Islands.

Later on, gales are expected to reach Force 6.

This warning is valid until 8pm today.

Tomorrow is also expected to be windy, reaching Force 6 once again. However, the weather is being forecast to calm down and be sunny by the weekend.
