Winter Moods Frontman Leads Tributes To Motorcyclist Killed In Tal-Qroqq Accident
Online tributes are pouring in for Boris Cini, the 43-year-old man whose life was tragically cut short yesterday when he crashed his motorcycle in the Tal-Qroqq tunnels.
Amongst those expressing their shock at the news was Ivan Grech, the lead singer of the popular band Winter Moods and a personal friend of Cini.
“Dear Boris, what a shock, what a sad loss for us who had the pleasure to know you, you’re someone I gladly called bro cos’ it just instantly felt like it,” he wrote on Facebook. “I have nothing but fond memories of time we spent together at Marsaxlokk. I always enjoyed your company, your contagious relaxed aura used to naturally put a smile on my face and everyone else around. Each and every time we met it was a witty, insanely humorous journey that could lighten up any given dull day. Only those who know you well would understand that although writing this is heart breaking, every memory of you sheds enough smiles to counter every grieving tear. Big bro, whilst we bid you farewell we know that there’s no way your spirit will ever leave us.”
Several other friends and old acquaintances also took to social media to express their shock and sadness.
Cini died after crashing his motorcycle in the Tal-Qroqq tunnels at around 4pm yesterday, making him the twelfth person to die in a traffic accident in Malta since the start of the year. A Polish woman who was riding pillion on the bike was seriously injured and is currently recovering in hospital.
