Woman At Risk Of Dying After Qrendi Crash Leaves Five Injured

A woman is at risk of dying following a major traffic incident in Qrendi that left five people injured.

According to a police statement the accident happened at roughly 8.45am with preliminary investigations indicating that a 44-year-old man from Qrendi lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a parked car.

The parked car then collided with a bus stop and hit four people. Three women, aged 62,66 and 68, and an 88-year-old man were injured. All four are residents of Qrendi.

Ambulances were quickly on the scene and the people were rushed to Mater Dei Hospital.

The 62-year-old woman is battling life-threatening injuries, while the condition of the other four is pending.

A magisterial inquiry has been opened and police investigations are underway.
