An elderly woman whose body was found in her St Paul’s Bay apartment yesterday, three months after she had died, had died of natural causes, forensic tests have reportedly ruled.
Citing sources close to the investigation, ONE News reported that Janet Harvey, 69, had succumbed to a serious illness in the months preceding her death and that there were no marks of violence on her body.
Harvey’s husband Russell, who lives in the same apartment, has been taken to Mount Carmel for psychiatric tests, after which the police will decide whether or not to prosecute him.
Acting on a missing person’s report by the British High Commission, police last night found Harvey’s body, in an advanced state of decomposition, covered up by blankets in a small bed.
According to ONE, the house was in an abysmal state, with animal and human waste littering the floor.
