Xewkija Woman At Risk Of Dying After Five-Person Traffic Crash In Gozo

A 32-year-old woman is fighting for her life after being involved in a car crash in Gozo.

The woman, from Xewkija, was a passenger in a Toyota Yaris being driven by a 36-year-old man from Xewkija; a three-year-old boy was also in the car with them.

At around 2.15pm in Triq l-Għarb, Għasri, they collided with a Toyota Corolla being driven by a 34-year-old from Fontana. There was also a 30-year-old woman in the Corolla.

A number of ambulances were sent to the scene of the incident and all five people were taken to hospital.

The 32-year-old was found to be suffering from serious injuries, while the three other adults were all certified with slight injuries.

The three-year-old boy had no injuries at all.

Magistrate Simone Grech has opened an inquiry into the incident. Police investigations are underway.
