A flood of heartfelt tributes remembering the best of San Anton School’s COO and father Pierre Camilleri have been posted across social media.

Thousands of people reacted and left their memories of the man after San Anton School announced the death last Wednesday.

Days after his sudden and shocking passing, scores of people left bouquets of flowers, cards, letters and so much more on his grave in memory of the man.

Among the tributes, his daughter Nicola’ shared an image of the mound of flowers left after his funeral, surrounding custom creations with ‘Pierre’ and ‘Dad’ written across them, before opening up on the death with incredible insight.

“Papa, I wanted to read a speech for you during your funeral, but they didn’t let us. Instead, I’m going to write a few words here,” she said, before going into a heartfelt breakdown of just how important Pierre was to his family, to his school and to all those touched by his personality.

“Last week, I received the biggest shock of my life, and the biggest heartbreak I’ve ever felt. It was such a dark week… I knew I was going to lose you one day, but not this soon.”

“I can’t believe I’ll never see you again, I’ll never call you again, you’re never going to come over to ‘chill’ on the sofa… You never disappointed me, and you were always present.”

“I don’t think another father like you exists in this world, and I told you this.”

She opened up about the suddenness of his loss, saying: “Dad, I will never know what made you do this, or what led you to it, and I’ll need to learn to live with this cruel question for the rest of my life.”

“I just wish someone was able to open your eyes. But it’s too late now, I can’t bring you back. I just hope mental health no longer remains a taboo.”

“I hope you are in a better place now, at peace, discussing football or politics with a cigarette in hand, watching and smiling from up there.”

Pierre’s son also opened up about the tragedy, saying the death was a “reality check” that rocked his family and loved ones.

“Dad, I just want to tell you, thank you. For giving us our identity, for encouraging me in the tough times, for every bit of advice you’ve given me. Until we meet again,” he said.
