‘You Were Truly A Deluxe Father’: Tributes Pour In For Brian Mifsud, Beloved Former Rabat Ajax Player

Tributes as pouring in for Brian ‘id-Deluxe’ Mifsud after losing his life in an early morning crash in Rabat today.
“Thank you dad. Keep putting a smile on our faces. You were truly a deluxe father,” his son Nigel Mifsud said in a heartfelt post today, sharing an image showing Brian’s “cheeky smile”.
“His unbridled sense of humour was unmatchable. He was the perfect ice-breaker, and nothing could have been too serious not to play jokes (and I guess all of Rabat knew that).”
“Yet, I was privileged to experience another side of him. A kind hearted, loving father, who put family first. Always ready to give us his all, and never gave no for an answer.”
Brian, 60, was beloved in the Rabat Ajax FC community as a former player in the 70s and 80s as well as continuing to serve the team for years after – even known for personally picking up and dropping off hundreds of children to the Rabat Ajax Football Nursery for training with his van.
His football prowess was remembered fondly – especially during the 1980/81 season, when the “Magpies won promotion from the second to the first division”.
Rabat Ajax FC also issued a tribute to the man who helped so many become better players and people.
Lovin Malta sends it heartfelt condolences to the Mifsud family during this difficult time
