Young Maltese Carnival Dancer Dies On Festival Weekend: ‘The Heavens Have Become More Beautiful’

Tributes are pouring in for a young Maltese Carnival enthusiast who passed away on her beloved day.
Kelly Mifsud is being remembered for her excitement and energetic dancing during Carnival, with a number of Carnival companies as well as friends and family expressing their condolences over the loss.
“During the festival of colours comes shocking news!” the Dreamteam company said in a Facebook post following her death last night. “God has chosen a person who was going to be one of us, one of our dancers. The heavens have become more beautiful. We give our condolences to Nigel and his and her entire family. RIP Kelly!”

Jeremy Mercieca, a member of the Dreamteam company, told iNews that Kelly, his friend, had fought until the end, and said God had decided to take a flower from earth during such an important day.
He also said that as sad as he was writing about her death, he knew she would be happy to know that Carnival had gone well and that their floats had been successful.
