38-Year-Old Woman Killed In St Julian’s After Car Rolls Back

A young mother was killed in St Julian’s after she was crushed by her car which was rolling back.

A 38-year-old resident of St Julian’s was found dead by police and medics who were called for assistance on Triq Birkirkara, St Julian’s today at 5.30pm.

The Times of Malta cited witnesses who claimed that she was desperately trying to stop the vehicle when it ran over her and crushed her. According to these witnesses, the woman’s daughter was in the car and is believed to be unharmed.

A police spokesperson on scene did not confirm the presence of other people in the vehicle. He explained that as she got out of the car it started rolling back and she got caught under it, suffering fatal injuries.

It is unclear what led the car to roll backwards.

A magisterial inquiry is underway as police investigations are ongoing.
