A 23-year-old German woman died in tragic circumstances last night after she was run over by a truck on the hill near the Addolorata cemetery moments after she had fallen off a motorbike.

The woman was riding pillion on the back of her Maltese boyfriend’s motorbike in Triq Santa Luċija at around 10:45pm when her boyfriend lost control of the vehicle. According to ONE News, the accident occurred after he encountered gravel and rocks in the middle of the road.

While he escaped unscathed, his girlfriend was run over by a truck driver, identified as a 43-year-old Italian national.
