A Żejtun resident is at risk of dying after being seriously injured in a traffic accident.

The man, 39, is believed to have lost control of his vehicle, a Mazda Demio, and crashed into a pole on Triq il-Labour, Żejtun, just after midnight this morning.

He was given first aid on the scene before being rushed to Mater Dei Hospital, where he was certified to have serious injuries.

Judge Victor Axiak has opened an inquiry into the accident while police investigations are underway.
