5 Guesses For Joseph Muscat’s ‘International’ Azure Window Initiative

After Prime Minister Joseph Muscat announced that the government would be launching an “international initiative” on the recently-collapsed Azure Window, social media went into a frenzy.
To continue stimulating the discussion, here are our five predictions for what it might be.
1. They’ll organise an international solidarity march
Starting from Jubilee and walking down to Arcadia, the walk will see leaders from across the globe standing side by side, proudly declaring #JienaDwejra
2. They’ll carve Malta’s own Mount Rushmore
We already have the “Azure Widow” looking out over the sea… so, starting with himself, Joseph Muscat will enact a tradition that will see all the faces of future Prime Ministers carved onto the cliff.
3. They’ll contract Renzo Piano to redesign it
And it’ll just be a solid stone wall, with a tiny crack in the middle to represent the rebirth of the landmark into its original starting point eons ago.
4. They’ll set up a laser light memorial
With one yellow beam shooting up from the sea, and one shooting out horizontally, a little inspiration from the Twin Towers will go a long way.
5. Dinner In The Sea will become a thing
Move over Atlantis, the future is Dwejra. With the area around the ex-window already known for its diving potential, the newly-submerged monument will make the whole place look even more surreal… so why not capitalise on that? A Maltese-born sister franchise to Dinner In The Sky is the answer.
