These are all the candidates he has endorsed so far.

Alex Agius Saliba

The serving PL MEP launched his reelection campaign by inviting Muscat to address a rally in Floriana, back when the Vitals magisterial inquiry had yet to be concluded and there were still question marks as to whether the former Prime Minister will contest himself.

After the inquiry recommended charges against Muscat, Agius expressed his support for the former PM by inviting him to a rally in Gżira and even honouring him with the closing speech of the event.

Clint Azzopardi Flores

An old friend of Muscat and his wife Michelle, Azzopardi Flores kicked off his campaign by inviting Michelle Muscat to a rally in Paola and embracing her to a round of applause.

After the charges against Muscat were announced, Azzopardi Flores invited him to address a Żabbar rally, where the former PM urged people who are planning to attend next week not to fall for provocation and to respect journalists in attendance.

Daniel Attard

The young PL candidate has long been supporting Muscat during the magisterial inquiry process, earning him praise from Michelle Muscat last February for being “one of the few who had the immense courage to defend our name”.

Joseph Muscat addressed a rally organised by Attard in Birgu last night.

Claudette Abela Baldacchino

Another old friend of the Muscats, Abela Baldacchino’s most-watched Facebook video by far since launching her campaign is a ringing endorsement by Joseph Muscat.

“She doesn’t speak out of a desire to be liked but because she truly believes in what she says, and I can confirm this because I was often on the receiving end,” he said. “She is loyal to her principles and her party, which doesn’t mean that you must always bow your head and say ‘Yes Sir’.”

Marija Sara Vella Gafà

Joseph Muscat has lavished the young Gudja mayor with praise, and this morning addressed a rally she had organised in Paola.

In a video endorsement, Muscat praised Vella Gafà for making a name for herself over the course of this campaign and for her work as Gudja mayor.

“She walked into band clubs as though she owned them, in a positive sense, she kept in touch with her community and she understands what families are going through. She smiles a lot, but don’t take it as a sign of weakness but of great strength.”
