13 Maltese Politicians If They Were Famous Rappers

Article Featured Image

Maltese politicians: they are like rappers without the swag, constantly trying to get into the media and attempting to get your attention – and your love.

But beyond the lyrical skills that both these professions are known for, there are certain other traits that a good rapper and a good politician can share.

Here are 13 Maltese politicians that could practically double as famous rappers in their spare time.

1. Kristy Debono/Iggy Azalea

These two women have the uncanny ability to get into the spotlight – whatever the spotlight may be. They are also beloved by hordes of 13 year old girls, but not really anyone else. Most people just see them, smile, and generally wonder what they actually do.

2. Evarist Bartolo/Lil Jon

These two men have been around for literal decades, adapting to each subsequent trend as it comes along, riding the wave as far as it can go. Both of these men also have great crossover appeal, ensuring their longevity as long as people keep turning up and get educated.

3. Miriam Dalli/Nicki Minaj

These two women are powerhouses in their own right – and both are called upon by their label-mates when times get rough. Any song that features a Nicki Minaj verse is going to be a hit – and any initiative that has Miriam Dalli’s backing is sure to do well.

4. Marlene Farrugia/Cardi B

No pair throws as much shade around as these two women. Cardi and Marlene rose astronomically in such a short period due to their savage social media videos, as well as regularly talking shit about everyone around them.

5. Arnold Cassola/Snoop Dogg

Both of these men debuted in 1992, both men have stood by their principles through thick and thin, and both have been calling for the legalisation of cannabis for decades. Green visionaries and beloved by many, both of these men would make great grandpas.

6. Marie Louise Coleiro Preca/Queen Latifah

These two women are the matriarchs. Queen Latifah has influenced generations of rappers and RnB singers, and even pave the way for female rappers to enter film. She’s also got that fine voluptuous look, which, judging by Edgar Preca’s constant smile, Marie Louise shares as well.

7.Joseph Muscat/Drake

Two of the most successful men in their fields, both are talented as well as very media savvy. While they might be at the top of their games right now, most of their fans secretly resent them just as much as they love them: no man is allowed to be so good, Drake/Joseph.

8. Simon Busuttil/DJ Khaled

Another one. And another one. Both of these men just keep on coming back with hit after hit, and very rarely, if ever, do they change their formula. However, Simon broke one of DJ Khaled’s major keys recently: never play yourself

9. Roberta Metsola/Missy Elliot

They’ve both been around for a while, have xeba features in everyone else’s works, and are known to comment on pretty much anything happening. Roberta has also been known to sometimes work it, put her thang down, flip it, and then reverse it.

10. Julia Farrugia Portelli/Kendrick Lamar

Two young guns, these two outspoken individuals are making waves in their respective fields, speaking their minds and showing others that it pays off to stick to your principles. Julia has also been known to get lots of love in Compton, whenever she drops in.

11. Konrad Mizzi/Kanye West

Two misunderstood geniuses, hated by society. Both of these men have changed the game, innovating in their fields and stepping on everyone’s toes in the process. Both are as controversial as you can get, with the slightest mention of their names throwing half of your friends into an instant rage.

12. Franco Debono/Azealia Banks

The only couple to reach Marlene Farrugia/Cardi B levels of shade, they tried the same tactic as their more successful counterparts, only to fall by the wayside. While Franco is doing some great work on the constitution, and Azealia Banks released the hottest track of 2012, something tells me they won’t ever get the props they deserve.

13. Adrian Delia/Pitbull

Mr. Worldwide and Mr. B’kara FC are peas in the pod – both are rich, successful, and hated by almost everyone.
