Independent firebrand Arnold Cassola has wrapped up a remarkable campaign with a final statement brimming with energy and hope.

Four days ago, a Times/Esprimi poll placed Cassola as the third preference in the run-up to the election, signaling an unprecedented shift in Maltese politics.

Cassola’s momentous speech, released across all platforms, has already garnered immense viewership, reflecting the widespread interest in his campaign.

“While One and Net are free to broadcast their propaganda, our campaign has been denied the opportunity to purchase airtime on any station to share our message with the nation,” Cassola declared.

“That’s why I’m urging those who want change to spread this message by any means possible. Get creative.”

In his final address, Cassola spoke of the excitement surrounding what he views as the rebirth of a new Malta. He reaffirmed his commitment to fostering an economy that values beauty, merit, sustainability, and meaningful work for the youth.

Cassola poignantly criticised the immaturity and bickering of Maltese politicians, contrasting it with the maturity shown by the public. He highlighted the Jean Paul Sofia vigil in Valletta last year, where thousands of Maltese people shed their partisan allegiances and gathered in front of the Prime Minister’s office to demand justice.

As a parting shot, Cassola urged veiwers to pick up the pen at the voting booth this Saturday with the intent to co-author Maltese history.

Never in Malta’s modern history has an independent candidate generated such enthusiasm across such a wide range of demographics.

The key question now is: will this be enough to propel Cassola over the line and usher in a new political era in Malta?
