‘The Biggest Street Party In The World?’: All The Ways Malta Reacted To St Patrick’s Day 2019

Another St. Patrick’s Day has come and gone, leading to countless statuses about a) the general state of St. Julian’s, b) the general state of alcohol in your system and c) all the very original green get-ups y’all came up with.

As thousands of people in Malta joined the millions of people celebrating the Irish festival worldwide, streets – and rivers – ran green in memory of Saint Patrick, an austere fifth-century cleric who probably wasn’t even Irish.

For most people, St Paddy’s is the first hint that summer is near – and that must be celebrated

Though not all celebrations were ultra-green and alcohol-fuelled

Some people praised the selflessness of the massive crowds… or not

And the vice-mayor of St. Julian’s himself had some feelings about the annual party in his backyard

Though one guy was getting tired of all the complaining

As the entire world celebrated a Catholic saint by drinking excessively, there’s clearly only one thing to say at the end of it all
