Right Of Reply: Imperium Europa ‘Never Appealed For The Spilling Of Blood’ – Party Reacts After Jon Mallia Comments
Imperium Europa, Malta’s divisive right-wing party, has replied to claims made by top podcaster Jon Mallia that “racism is raising its head” and could lead to the “spilling of innocent blood” as a result of leader Norman Lowell create “a tribalistic anger in our stomach”.
In the Right-Of-Reply statement sent to Lovin Malta, the party rebutted Mallia’s comments by stating that “23 years from its launch, Imperium Europa has never appealed for the spilling of blood nor spilt the blood of innocent people”.
A number of other points raised included former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat’s comments following the murder of Lassana Cisse, comments from PN’s Lawrence Gonzi and Jason Azzopardi… and even references to the concept of “ethnic replacement” and the ongoing, completely unproven belief that Malta has 450,000 foreigners living on the island.
Below is Imperium Europa’s reply, recreated in full without edits:
We write in reply to the article written by you and published on Lovin’Malta yesterday 31st of July 2023, entitled: ‘Racism Is Raising Its Head’: Jon Mallia Admits He’s ‘Worried’ About Norman Lowell’s ‘Newfound Popularity’.
The article features Mr Lowell’s picture and quotes Mr Jon Mallia’s own feelings and thoughts about the Founder and Leader of our Party: Imperium Europa.
Mr Jon Mallia stated the following:
“I can never accept, just because whoever was in government decided to make his friends richer by filling this country up with migrants without a plan, we’re going to blame it all on whoever was invited to our country, for us to essentially cook him alive”.
Imperium Europa distinguishes between five types of migrants; those coming from other member state countries under the Schengen agreement, invited or accepted talented migrants, low-pay migrants (quasi slave labourers) from the Far East, ‘tourists’ overstaying their permits and the uninvited who become a problem the minute they step foot whether qualifying as illegal immigrants or persons seeking subsidiary protection. Mr Jon Mallia fails to distinguish between these five categories.
Mr Jon Mallia rambles on: “Because I think that, for him to have his MEP wish granted, he’s going to create a tribalistic anger in our stomach which will spill the blood of innocent people”.
Imperium Europa understands that this is his personal opinion but fails to understand how Lovin’Malta publishes such an unfounded claim which completely misinterprets the intentions of the Party. We rebut by stating that 23 years from its launch, Imperium Europa has never appealed for the spilling of blood nor spilt the blood of innocent people.
Despite the relentless media vilification, disinformation, slander and personal attacks, Imperium Europa gained steadfast popularity, proving the bad-publicity theory right. Perhaps the local media should have listened to Fr Joe Borg who in 2010 called upon the media to “ban Lowell”.
It is to be noted that during the last EP campaign, ex-PM Joseph Muscat blamed Mr Lowell for instilling racial hatred amongst his followers. This comment followed Mr Lassana Cisse’s murder by two labourites. At the time he stated “We shouldn’t listen to poison and we shouldn’t listen to a more refined narrative of us-versus-them and about how Malta is hosting too many foreigners”. His message was spread far and wide by the local media.
Has the same media forgotten Mr Cisse? Is it Imperium Europa’s anti-migration policies that create a tribalistic anger or forced integration and childish hate-speech laws aimed at muzzling people?
When it comes to illegal immigration, these are the comments that shall be remembered:
Norman Lowell, 2005 “they become a problem the minute they step foot. Stop them at 14 miles”
Lawrence Gonzi, 2011 “multiculturalism is a strength”
Jason Azzopardi, 2011 “Malta is not multicultural enough”
Joseph Muscat, 2015 “promising pushback was a mistake”
Mr Jon Mallia must be worried about the fact that People are realising which politician has been right all along.
According to the latest census Malta has become home to 400,000 locals with a critically low birth rate and an ageing population. Despite the limited resources and infrastructure, locals share the once-pristine island nation together with 450,000 foreigners who fall within the five categories.
Whether intended or not, whether due to illegal migrants or an excess of foreigners, the result is clear. It’s called “ethnic replacement”. It worries us of Imperium Europa much more than the stomach pains that tribalistic anger may create.
A number of far-right groups marched in Vienna on the 30th of July, calling for an end to the ‘Great Replacement’. Imperium Europa does not organise such events. It believes in the democratic vote of the local electorate. Given the chance, the Party will join successful right-wing parties from other member states with a clear aim to launch a new group in Brussels based on Haider’s vision of Nova Europa.
Imperium Europa augurs Lovin’Malta the best of luck in its constitutional challenge of a section of the Broadcasting Act granting a carte-blanche for political party-owned stations in entitling them to dispose of the concept of impartiality. It would however be a step in the right direction should Lovin’Malta follow itself the spirit of the constitution and become a catalyst for media freedom and pluralism.
