Boy, This Maltese Guru Saying Everyone’s 2020 Will Be Great Starting From March Really Didn’t Age Well, Huh?

Ah, January 2020. One of the final hurrahs of the before-times. And, according to one Maltese “love guru”, the beginning of what would end up being an awesome year for pretty much everyone. Yikes.

In an absolute blast from the past (that is, four months ago), we present to you therapist Adrian ‘Guru’ Gusman’s prediction for 2020.

Taking to the popular morning show TVAM on Tuesday 14th January, Gusman had told hosts Quinton and Clara that this would be “a good year for nearly everyone”, going on to predict a whole lot of “balance and stability”. Double yikes.

If you weren’t quite feeling the salt in your wounds just yet, get this; all of this greatness, balance and stability was set to really kick off on 21st March, and should be among us until February 2021. Triple yikes.

Now I’m not exactly sure whether Gusman was predicting COVID-19 instead, but he sure seems to have gotten some dates uncannily right…

Joking aside, though, it looks like no country on the planet managed to properly see this one coming, so we weren’t expecting any one person to somehow have a proper prediction for the next 12 whole months. You know, it’s almost like forecasting the future is impossible or something. Huh.

Something's coming in March alright...

Something's coming in March alright...

Quickly receiving a barrage of comments on his slightly-off prediction when shit really hit the fan, Gusman had taken to Facebook last March to explain how, maybe, what he said wasn’t too far off the mark after all…

A healthcare worker himself, Gusman has no doubt been rather busy adopting to the world’s “new normal” ever since Malta confirmed its first COVID-19 case on 7th March.

“I had a lot of critics and was even made fun of for how I described 2020 because I had given emphasis on the great positivity it would have on us as individuals,” the love guru started in a post on 25th March.

“We don’t have any more excuses that we’re busy and that we have other stuff to do, now we have all the chance in the world to reflect on our lives,” Gusman went on.

“Check out these articles and comments and see for yourselves whether or not a big positive change happened in us Maltese,” he finished, blessing everyone as he posted a number of screenshots of people saying they can’t wait to get out of this and sharing their plans of family reunions, Sunday lunches and going to Mass more often.

Hey so maybe, just maybe, Gusman’s prediction was spot on after all?
