PewDiePie has dominated YouTube for over half a decade now, with a dedicated nine(teen)-year-old army of over 102 million people garnering him an insane 24 billion total views. So for his end-of-the-year round-up, you just know he had to recruit the best of the best… and wouldn’t you know it, there was a little of the white-and-red in there!
In what’s become a running jab at the typically-disappointing YouTube Rewind end-of-the-year round-up, PewDiePie returned this year with his own rendition of the now notoriously disliked official video, this time getting the help of the three of the world’s top meme kings around the world.
And if we’re talking meme kings, of course Maltese legend Grandayy had to make an appearance!
The video, aptly named YouTube Rewind 2019, but it’s actually good, sees PewDiePie guide his audience through the biggest memes and viral trends of 2019, with the help of some expert editing by FlyingKitty, Dolan Dark… and of course our very own Grandayy.
It also features music by Party In Backyard, who along with Grandayy has been a long-time PewDiePie collaborator.

Grandayy’s part – which comes in at 2:10 and goes all the way to 3:55 – covers a substantial part of the 2019 memedom, from Minecraft and Tesla to PewDiePie’s own adorable viral moment of the year, his wedding day.
Uploaded just yesterday, the video is already sitting on over six million views, and it’s only set to get even bigger.
Last year, PewDiePie’s take on YouTube Rewind had amassed over 71 million views, and it’s sure looking like this year’s compilation will follow suit.
Of course, due to the satirical nature of the video – and it pretty much shitting on YouTube’s regular failings to properly summarise the year – it’s not looking like the #1 YouTuber’s latest video is going to show up on the Trending list any time soon.
