With the impending arrival of CCTV cameras that will include facial recognition features to the Maltese islands, many people have been feeling some Black Mirror vibes.

We decided to imagine what these episodes from the hit sci-fi/psychological/dystopian thriller TV show would be like if they were based in Malta.

CCTV cameras with facial recognition software scan citizens, grading them according to the value of their actions.

They are rewarded for good behaviour and punished for bad behaviour. Only citizens of the highest grading are allowed to thrive in society.

6. Playtest

An horror game where the individual is transported into an augmented reality version of Mater Dei.

To win the game, players must make their way to the correct wards and receive the right treatment without any guidance. You are only allowed out of the game once you’ve completed all the tasks.

7. Hated In The Nation

In this particular game, players are transported into a sci-fi version of Dejjem Tieg?ek, Becky.

The future is either very bleak or exciting. We can’t decide.
