VOTE: Who Would Malta Pick In The UK’s General Election?

Article Featured Image

Calling a snap election in June seems to be the latest international trend, as the UK heads to the polls today, less than a week after Malta’s election.

Announced by Prime Minister Theresa May (despite several promises to not do so), the early election was called to secure the people’s faith in a Tory-led government ahead of the big Brexit negotiations. Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has given May a run for her money across the short election campaign, and has managed to overcome the internal conflicts of his party in the hopes of securing enough seats to dethrone the conservative leadership.

But the latest polls released yesterday show May has actually won over a lot more voters than predicted.

Still, it’s anyone’s game and with voting open till 10:00pm there’s no telling which way the election could go. Recent terrorist attacks in Manchester and London have also seen the debate sway away from Brexit negotiations and focus squarely on May’s six years as Home Secretary, and her budget cuts to police funding. Still, she campaigns on with her offer of Strong and Stable leadership.

But, if you had a choice, who would you vote for?
