The World Is Obsessed With This New Creature And We’re Not Sure Why
A new deep-sea creature has been photographed by the University of Victoria, Australia, and it’s left people a little… lost for words.
Even the official Twitter account for the university had a cheeky giggle at the marine creature’s rather interesting form.
“Our scientists went deep…”

Unsurprisingly, the world lost its mind at the interesting shape of the creature, and the internet exploded with hilarious (and slightly confused) reactions to the discovery. It seems that since the photos made their way to the surface, the peanut worm has become somewhat of an online star.

Some people were even a little concerned about the risk of people getting the science wrong.
This is the Peanut Worm, not to be confused with the Penis Worm, which is also an actual thing, but not this thing https://t.co/D9mQETbyJc

Fun fact: the name isn’t actually the peanut worm. People are just having trouble understanding the Australian accent

Either way, we’re just glad they live in the deep so Għadira and Għajn Tuffieħa remain a penis-free swimming zone.
