WATCH: Maltese Church Claps Back At Nas Daily’s Suggestion To Sell Malta’s Religious Buildings
Catholic voices have stood up to defend churches across the island after Nas Daily suggested selling their riches to help the poor.
Posting a video to Facebook in a similar style to that of the viral vlogger, ‘True Light Catholic Media’ brought forward several points to argue against the removal of the churches to make money for the poor.
“The more beautiful these buildings are, the more they elevate the human spirit towards God.”
Citing the fact that Jesus was also asked these questions, the video states that Nas raises some good points that deserve a fair answer, even if they believe he’s wrong.
The church hasn’t officially claimed these statements, but sources who work at the archdiocese have said that what was said in the clip “aligns with the Church’s teachings”.
Comments under the video, which has already amassed almost 50,000 views and nearly 1,000 shares, are split. Some agree with the points being raised, while others (Catholic or otherwsise) have a few reservations.
