Another Maltese restaurant has been added to the highly coveted Michelin Guide. Fernandõ Gastrotheque, a small French-style bistro in Sliema, has been awarded a Michelin Star in the 2023 selection.

The restaurant is known for its informal yet elegant ambiance, contemporary furnishings, and highly talented chef who creates Mediterranean dishes with an occasional international touch.

The restaurant’s menu is prepared from the best Mediterranean seasonal ingredients along with it’s wine selection featuring over 600 labels from across the globe, with a particular emphasis on France and Italy.

The Maltese archipelago now has a total of six Michelin distinction restaurants in this year’s Michelin Guide, with five other restaurants that have retained their distinction.

This latest recognition puts Malta on the map and makes it an even more attractive destination for travellers.

“The development of the Maltese culinary scene is extremely exciting, with the selection of an additional five new restaurants that take their inspiration from the Mediterranean region, yet without holding back on the occasional touch of fusion to surprise and delight gourmets,” said Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guides.

With the addition of Fernandõ Gastrotheque to the Michelin Star family, Malta’s culinary scene continues to make a name for itself globally.
