Black Carpet Madness: The Biggest And Best Metaverse Looks And Moments From Last Night’s SMAs
We’re still recovering from the Metaverse Madness that went down last night in Sliema’s The Chophouse during the 2023 Lovin Malta Social Media Awards, powered by the National Lottery.
With major moments seeing living legend Bertu receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, rising DJ Edd tearing up tracks and keeping the dance floor moving and grooving and special spritzes on deck for all attendees, the Black Carpet itself was a sight to behold.
With Malta’s movers and shakers all gathered under one roof to celebrate the island’s talent, let’s take a look at some of the key moments and best looks from last night’s futuristic event (and yes, before you ask, there was an actual robot in house, too).
And big shout out to Chandon Garden Spritz for keeping the Black Carpet attendees happy and hydrated.
1. The entire Black Carpet event was streamed live, with hosts Sabrina and Kofi bringing the hype and energy from the get-go.

5. Some nominees took the Metaverse Chic dress-code to the nth degree, with Best TikToker winner Henry Galea coming in from the stratosphere with his inspired outfit while Hospice Malta’s Alexia Demicoli and Sarah Zerafa turned heads with their ensembles.

8. But possibly the biggest winner of the night has to be the one and only Bertu, a man who not only found success in his personal life, but served as a key part in others’ journeys to reach their personal bests.
