Who should be crowned Malta’s best influencer? What’s the best eatery around? And which locality has the best feast of them all?

It’s up to the people to decide, as Lovin Malta returns with the fifth edition of its highly-anticipated Social Media Awards, this year drenched in a nostalgic Y2K aesthetic. So what better way to celebrate all of this than by having the one and only McDonald’s power it all?!

From familiar heavyweights to daring newcomers, the SMAs aim to award the best, brightest and boldest names in Malta’s social media landscape, from activist organisations fighting for our rights to celebrities entertaining us on a daily basis (and everything in between).

A total of 19 awards are up for grabs this year, and while fan favourites such as Best Instagrammer, Best Maltese Export, Best Pet and Best Overall Content Creator are all returning, the 2024 SMAs are also introducing five new awards: Best CSR, Best Podcast, Best TV Show, Best Up & Coming Content Creator, and Best Festa.

And considering every edition of the SMAs has attracted over 100,000 votes and provided some extremely close battles for the top spots, expect some stiff competition and dramatic last-minute upsets to happen this year!

And the best part of this all is that you don’t even have to wait until you can start telling us who you think deserves to win at this year’s SMAs, because nominations are officially open now!

Everyone will be able to cast their nominations for the separate categories right now, with this phase open until Monday 21st October.

The next phase after that will see the finalists being unveiled, at which point it will be back to the people to vote on who deserves to win in every category.
