Record 12,000+ Nominations Submitted For SMAs: Finalists To Be Announced Soon
Nominations for the 2023 Lovin Malta Social Media Awards (SMAs) are officially closed, and we can now confirm that we have received an absolute record number of submissions.
With a total of 12,214 nominations from the public spread over 20 categories, this year’s SMAs have not only set a new record but are practically double the 6,410 received last year.
While all 20 categories received a lot of love, the five most popular were Best NGO/Cause, Best Musical Artist, Best Instagrammer, Best Host, and Best Overall Content Creator.
The 2023 Lovin Malta Social Media Awards SMAs, powered by National Lottery, will now move on to the shortlisting stage.
The next stage will be launched shortly, with the finalists of each category being revealed in the coming day– and the voting stage being opened to the public.
With previous editions having garnered 100,000 votes this year promises to be a record-breaker so be sure to keep your eyes peeled and be ready to vote for your favourite content creator or organisation.
All 12,214 will be assessed and sieved through and the most popular names per category will be shortlisted as finalists, with an announcement set to take place in the coming days.
The public will then get to vote for who they think should be 2023 social media champions, and as it is a 100% public vote, the winners are completely up to you!
From Adrian Zammit and Valentina Rossi to Żibel and Peppi Azzopardi, loads of iconic Maltese social media icons have triumphed at the SMAs in the past, but who will emerge victorious this year?
