20 Years Of Youth Empowerment: TDM 2000 Malta Celebrates A Major Milestone

TDM 2000 Malta has just marked its 20th anniversary, celebrating two decades of youth empowerment, international exchanges, and community-driven projects. The milestone was celebrated on 8th March 2025 with a vibrant evening at Maria Rosa Wine Estate, bringing together current members, alumni, international partners, and special guests.
The organisation, which officially launched in 2005 after a youth exchange in Sardinia, has since completed over 190 projects in nearly 60 countries, becoming one of Malta’s most active youth NGOs. From Erasmus+ programmes to grassroots initiatives, TDM 2000 Malta has given thousands of young people the chance to grow, connect, and lead.

Speeches on the night reflected on TDM’s journey, with Vice President Julia Zammit Galea Testaferrata kicking off the event, followed by special video messages from European Parliament President Roberta Metsola and MEP Thomas Bajada. Key guests also included Hon. David Agius and Prof. Arnold Cassola.
Live performances by Kevin Paul Calleja and SKARLET set the tone for a night that celebrated the past while looking ahead.
TDM also highlighted its philanthropic mission, having supported over 20 NGOs and charities in the past year. Proceeds from the anniversary event went towards Dar tal-Providenza, continuing the organisation’s hands-on community support.
In his closing speech, President Duncan Muscat emphasised the importance of youth participation in driving change and reaffirmed TDM’s mission to keep creating meaningful opportunities both locally and abroad.
With two decades under its belt, TDM 2000 Malta shows no signs of slowing down. Here’s to another 20 years of empowering Malta’s youth—at home and across the world.
