7 Hilarious Malta Things That Micheal McIntyre Needs To Know About

Article Featured Image

Get ready for a night of side-splitting laughter in the presence of one of the greats of stand-up comedy, because international funny-man Michael McIntyre is making a return to our island after his initial visit back in 2017!

Not that we think he needs any help doing his job, but just in case, we’ve put together a list of notable “Malta things” we think he should know about before setting foot on the MFCC stage on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th of March.

1. Our problematic relationship with transport

Michael had thrown some shade at our roads the last time he was here, but there’s so much more he could tap into. Our inability to follow simple road rules (hello indicators), the extreme displays of road rage, a tumultuous approach to traffic and the island’s love-hate relationship with public transport.

2. The things we name our kids

I don’t even need to explain this one. They’re pretty dnegel-dary.

3. The whole Gozo-porsche-priest saga

Can you imagine how much fun he’d have taking the piss out of the fact that 50 kids pulled a Priest in a Porsche? We can see him giggling away as he tries to reenact the scene right now.

Porsche lol

4. That man who shouted at his baby and went viral

To be an honest, it wasn’t an angry shout, more like a fog-horn blaring out of his mouth that instantly stopped his newborn from crying. A very Maltese thing indeed.

5. The whole Brexit thing

The crossover between British expats in Malta and Maltese expats in Britain is insane. So it would be interesting to see what McIntyre has to say about the whole thing.

6. The iconic storm that was Hurricane Dnegel

Featuring flying fish, soggy cake, recluse cows, and an almost Biblical scene over at Xemxija.

7. Asking if Prime Minister Joseph Muscat would partake in ‘Send To All’

It’s a classic game that Michael plays at his shows where he takes the mobile phone of any ‘celebrity’ in the audience, writes up a risky text message, and sends it to all their contacts.

Imagine all the actually catastrophic drama he could cause.

If you want to see how many of our tips Michael takes up, or confirm that his jokes are indeed better than ours, you can book your tickets for his Big World Tour here.

We also have four premium tickets to give away!

All you need to do is tag three of your friends in the comments below and you could be heading on over to watch Michael McIntyre live for free on Thursday 7th of March. Not bad for a weekday night out.
