1. Your talent won’t go unnoticed

One of the most important things about being happy in a company is knowing that you’re appreciated, and the iGaming industry is definitely the sector for that.

iGaming companies recognise and reward great talent on a regular basis, giving you the daily boost you need to help you progress and love your job.

2. You don’t need to go abroad to get an iGaming diploma anymore

MCAST have recently announced that they’ll be launching a new iGaming diploma right here on the island this semester, making this absolute first an awesome way to get into the industry and hit the ground running.

The result of an awesome collaboration between MCAST and the Malta Gaming Authority, the European Gaming Institute of Malta (EGIM) will be developing training and education programmes for the gaming industry starting this October.

3. Every day is casual Friday

Ditch the suit and tie – iGaming companies are famously tolerant towards relaxed attire.

The focus here is obviously on what you can do, not what you look like, particularly if your job entails working at a desk all day. You won’t be asked to cover up your tattoos, and as long as you aren’t wearing anything distracting or inappropriate, it’s all good in the hood.

4. If you love making new friends, look no further

Add to that the fact that these new friends will be from all around the world, and you’ve just stumbled upon socialising heaven on earth.

Bringing together the best in the business from all around the world, the iGaming industry is where it’s at if you love meeting new people and coming into contact with a myriad of different cultures.

And while that can be said for a lot of companies where the iGaming industry is present, it really is all happening on this tiny island in the middle of the Mediterranean.

5. There’s work events, then there’s these events

You can usually easily tell whether a company really wants to rise above the average and deliver something different (read: better), not only with their work ethic, but with the way they treat their employee’s downtime.

Companies in the iGaming industry are known to host some of the biggest, most elaborate and fun work events around. Expect themed parties, events by the pool… and perhaps even a work holiday!

6. The industry just keeps growing

All the perks we’ve been mentioning are only made possible because the iGaming industry’s growth isn’t stopping any time soon.

As more and more companies pour into Malta, moving some of their main hubs to the island and bringing with them some of their best workers and opportunities, it will only continue being an amazing time to get into iGaming in Malta.

7. A long list of career opportunities

If there’s one thing the iGaming industry is, it’s huge.

Whether it’s multiple (and frequent) opportunities to progress in your initial career path or the security of knowing so many companies out there would love to add you to their awesome team, the future is bright for anyone in iGaming.

During the launch of the new iGaming Diploma back in July, Hon. Silvio Schembri had explained how the government was working to help the gaming industry grow further with more talented people. At the same time, he had expressed his vision to see more Maltese talent seek new career opportunities with this every growing industry that is very dynamic and pays well.

A spokesperson at iGaming tech experts and innovators GiG (Gaming Innovation Group) confirmed just how vital this would be for the industry. “With more than 750 GiGsters from 35 different countries, we never settle for anything ordinary and are continuously looking for the best-qualified people to disrupt the industry and create innovation,” GiG said. “We applaud EGIM for aligning the curriculum to the industry’s needs, and in doing so leading the way to deliver graduates ‘best in class’ to kick-off their career in iGaming. We’re looking forward to welcoming the first full-time student of the EGIM diploma programme!”

Industry giants Betsson also had some great things to say about this latest initiative. “We’re very happy that EGIM has started this MCAST diploma programme,” Head of Employer Branding and External Relations Roderick Spiteri said. “We believe it’s an important first step to anyone who would like to work in this fast, dynamic industry as the diploma covers the most fundamental areas of what iGaming is all about.”

The new diploma offers a wide variety of subjects, from computer graphics and digital marketing to data analytics and website design and development.

Courses will also cover everything from individual and social responsibility, to brushing up of key skills like English, Maltese and Maths.
