7 Tips To Help You Break Into The iGaming Industry In Malta

Everyone and their uncle knows that Malta’s iGaming industry is booming, and what (almost) everyone also knows is that they too want a piece of the seemingly life-changing pie. What’s not to want? Great working conditions, good career prospects, and salaries you can actually make life plans with.

Well, we’ve got a few tips to help our readers land a job in Malta’s most lucrative business and quickly become another person that their friends hate for having it so damn good.

1. Find out what iGaming actually is

And preferably do it before you go to your interview. Just as an intro: it’s basically betting money or some other value on the outcome of an event or a game, using the internet.

2. Actually prepare for your interview

This really isn’t rocket science, but you’ll be happy to know that there are handy tools out there just waiting to help you score your new, shiny job.

3. Identify what you’re good at

You’ll find out eventually that iGaming careers really rely on transferrable skills. Take time to think about what you’re good at, and then focus on selling it like a hot pastizz.

4. Stop worrying that you have no IT skills

The iGaming industry in Malta is massive – job roles range from administration, to customer support, communications, HR and more. You’re going to find something… even if you’re not Bill Gates.

5. Apply for an internship!

So what if you’re thirty-five and have been working for over a decade? if you’re serious about joining this thriving industry, then you’ve got to join a serious internship programme

6. Network your ass off

Find out when and where the industry events are happening and then go to them. Don’t know how to do this? Ask someone who already works in iGaming – it’ll take you three degrees of separation to find them (at most).

7. Make sure you’re a team player

Don’t just tell your interviewer that you work well in a team – mean it. If you’re not that keen on working with others then this might not be the right career path for you. If you are, then make sure you say that to your potential employer, over and over.
