8 Reasons This Is The Perfect Place For A Weekend Break In Malta
Whether you’re flying to Malta for a quick getaway, or live here and just need a quick staycation, the Marina Hotel Corinthia Beach Resort offers everything you could possibly need… and more.
Here’s a taste of how to make the most of your stay.
1. Borrow a GoPro
Yes, borrow – not rent. The GoPro is given free to all guests of the hotel, with an option to buy the SD card and all your shots loaded up on it on your way out. Think of the incredible GIF potential.
2. Get everything you need with a quick click
Room upgrades? Champagne delivery? A tour of the island? Anything you could want or need on your stay is just a tap away with your own personalised e-Concierge. The app even tracks your itinerary throughout your stay.
Of course, we went with champagne, because why not?
3. Try out all the watersports
Seriously just do it – we didn’t realise we were such fans of the open seas until our trip down to the Sun and Fun section to try all the activities.
Canoeing was great exercise, and a great to whiz through the waves at your own pace.
Paddleboarding was also fun, but it is a little bit more challenging… clearly.
And jetskiing is honestly the most liberating and thrilling thing in the world. It is so fast, but so easy to control. I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited and terrified in my life. You absolutely have to try it.
4. Eat all the food
Da Marina restaurant offers patrons a fancy choice of meals to tuck into, while Vinoteque provides a reasonably-priced, but equally tasty, variation with a vast selection of pizza and pasta.
5. Wake up in time for sunrise
This may seem a bit contrary to the whole ‘relax and enjoy your weekend’ vibe – but the sunrise from here is magnificent and totally worth the effort.
And if you’re feeling extra diligent, you can enjoy it along with your super buffet breakfast.
6. Enjoy breakfast in bed
Waking up early to see sunrise can be tiring, so if you’re not quite ready to brave the outside world, there’s only one thing you can do – and that’s let breakfast come to you!
7. Relax at the Apollo Spa
No luxury trip would be complete without a visit to the spa – and the Apollo Spa knows exactly what to offer. Phone in, or book it through your e-Concierge and you definitely won’t be disappointed. Even walking in feels special – you cross a bridge over a pool, you’re greeted by friendly staff who explain the whole process to you.
8. End your day with more relaxation
Bubblebath, Netflix and minibar anyone?
If you’ve clinched a deluxe sea-view room to celebrate your weekend in style then you’ll be happy to know that everything in your minibar is complimentary. Even without complimentary access to the minibar’s treats, does anything really compare to relaxing with a glass of wine, far too many M&Ms and your favourite TV shows?
