Calypso Abyss Party By Costa Cruises And VisitMalta
Costa Cruises held the worldwide launch of its Calypso Abyss Party on Saturday 18th May at the Upper Barrakka Gardens.
The event attracted a large crowd that was treated to a spectacular gun salute, followed by hi-tech projection over the bastions of Fort St Angelo across Valletta’s Grand Harbour and a spectacular party atmosphere created by the Versatile band. Imagine: the ship – the Costa Fascinosa slows down during its voyage right above the deepest point of the Mediterranean Sea, the Calypso deep, where the mysteries of the ocean come to life in an unforgettable party onboard, never seen before.
This was the theme of the event, an exclusive teaser by Costa Cruises, that took place only in Malta, showcasing this incredible “under the sea” theme party, that will start taking place on Costa ships from June.
Forming part of the “Sea Destinations”, an exclusive innovation, which will make the Costa travel experience even more unique, these are truly new destinations, to be discovered on board the ship, during navigation, through evocative moments, out-of-the-ordinary experiences that tell of iconic places included in the routes. In this way, alongside the “classic” destinations on land, such as Santorini, Mykonos, Crete or Zakynthos, that can be visited during a cruise on board the Costa Fascinosa embarking from Malta, guests can also discover new destinations between the sky and the sea.
Costa Cruises chose Malta for this launch in recognition of the company’s longstanding relationship with the island. Its first cruise ships started calling at Valletta’s majestic Grand Harbour over six decades ago.
The event shall in fact receive worldwide coverage for both Malta as a destination and Costa Cruises via the distribution channels of both the Malta Tourism Authority and those of the cruise line – primarily an extensive, worldwide travel agency network, tourism publications, social media channels, and influencers.
