Celebrating Two Years Of Good Skin And Good Fun With K-Beauty In Malta

Together with the rise of K-dramas and K-pop, Korean skincare, or “K-beauty”, is making waves around the globe. But what is it, really?

K-beauty is a philosophy of care that traces its foundations hundreds of years back. A popular misconception is that it is a novel addition to the world of skincare and that it is a routine that involves many, many, many steps. In truth it is a personalised, long-term skin care routine that is inspired by nature.

Peaches&Crème is a leading online platform with over 100 Korean skincare brands and hundreds of products to choose from. They have the largest selection of K-beauty brands and products in Malta and are celebrating two years of bringing the joy of Korean skincare to our island.

How do I use Korean skincare?

The key to a successful K-beauty routine is knowing that your skin’s needs are continuously changing. Whether it’s with the seasons, day-to-day changes in your environment, the weather, or even your condition for the day, this personal relationship with your skin is essential to some amazing—and most importantly—long-term results. This understanding is the first fundamental step to start building your routine with K-beauty products that are designed to be mixed, matched, and layered as needed.

The golden rule? Every skin is unique. Your skincare routine is yours to build and explore, and K-beauty gives you a world of options to discover what’s best for you.

From cleansers and toners, to essences, ampoules, and your favourite face masks, there are skincare products for every skin type and skin concern. Aside from well-known brands like COSRX, Some By Mi, Benton, and Purito, Peaches&Crème has added more brands in the past year with a particular focus on “clean beauty” and vegan skincare products as the market evolves into being more conscious and environment-oriented.

More than a skincare shop

“Skincare, like self-care, is not something transactional. It is an adventure where there’s always something new to enjoy,” said Catherine Borg Olivier, co-founder and CEO of Peaches&Crème. The company believes that the Korean skincare experience should be a fun and happy one.

“That is why we wanted our brand to be colourful and whimsical, and not at all high-brow,” said C. Regala, Peaches&Crème co-founder and Head of Marketing. “We want skincare to be accessible and approachable, like a friend—so that’s how we aim to conduct business, from communications down to our customer service,” they added.

Peaches&Crème also aims to be a platform to educate people, with the goal of learning self-care long-term by way of skincare. “This is what has drawn me to K-beauty personally: the philosophy of skin care as a continuing, evolving relationship towards well-being, versus seeing our skin as just a problem to be solved,” says Catherine.

“It’s very empowering. We want to share that feeling with our customers.”

In the years they have operated so far they have encountered many customers that have been limited by old ideas of skincare, and as a result, have been fearful of trying new things. These are the people they want to reach the most – to be able to show them that skincare is fun and something you can enjoy.

Creating a #SeriouslyBetterWorld

Peaches&Crème has also supported a number of humanitarian and social causes since its conception in 2020. “We believe that being involved in the community is integral to who we are,” shares Catherine Borg Olivier,  “and we want to give back and support causes we care about however way we can.”

These causes include health, human rights and gender equality, humanitarian crises, as well as climate emergency response through organisations like UNHCR, World Central Kitchen, Doctors Without Borders, and most recently, Europa Donna Malta. “By doing it through the shop we can involve customers in caring for what’s happening in the world,” said the CEO.

Aside from donating sales proceeds to these organisations, Peaches&Crème also offsets all orders from the shop to make shipments carbon positive, and all store packaging is made from recyclable and biodegradable materials—down to the packing peanuts!

Future plans

The past two years have been about diversifying the store’s brand offerings, branching into hair and body care, as well as the addition of soft makeup.

As a store born during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Peaches&Crème is currently operating fully online, with a physical pickup option for those wanting to avoid shipping fees but having a physical store is in the pipeline.

Peaches&Crème K-Beauty and Skincare Shop is available online to all Maltese and EU residents. They provide next day delivery for orders made before 2PM CET via DHL express for both local and international deliveries.

Check out their website or drop them a line at [email protected] or follow them on Facebook and Instagram to remain updated.
