Characters We All Expect To See At This Year’s Comedy Knights
The Comedy Knights are back, and so are the hilarious sketches ridiculing all things Maltese from politics to village gossip and everything between. Our favourite members of this hilarious cast are returning to Teatru Salesjan: Chris Dingli, Marc Cabourdin, Jo Caruana, Pia Zammit, Colin Fitz, Thomas Camilleri, Steve Hili, and newbie Chantelle Micallef Grimaud will bring to life a whole bunch of parody characters that their fans have grown to love.
This year, we’re speculating about which of those faves will make an appearance. Here’s our predications for the 2016 show.
1. Simon Busuttil
Apart from his interview with Lovin Malta, Malta’s Opposition leader has had a relatively quiet year. But we feel like he’s bound to make an appearance in the Nationalist stronghold town of Sliema…
2. Joseph Muscat
Admittedly his year has been less quiet, so there’s scope for our very own Prim to be the protagonist of many a-hilarious sketches.
3. Konrad Mizzi and Keith Schembri
This Panama Papers double act have brought us plenty of joy this year – between them they are the embodiment of the gift that keeps on giving. We’d be devastated if these guys don’t turn up at some point in the show.
4. Michelle Muscat
It’s possible this character will elicit some backstage panic as the cast work out how to apply and remove henna in record time between quick changes… #VeryUnprofessional
5. The Sliema Girls
This annoyingly addictive couple has been making cameos all over the place all year. We are ready to cringe and squirm in our seats as we get thoroughly pepe-d… And after we leave Giorgio’s, well head to the Comedy Knights…
6. The Maltese waiter
This character was a real hit two years ago, and with our own obsession with unpicking the nuanced behaviour of customer care workers, we’re dying to see if he will reappear.
7. Daphne Caruana Galizia
With all the corruption that went on this year in Malta, it’s impossible for the one-woman-corruption-fighting-campaign to not swoop in and save the day.
8. Gajtu
An ‘every man’ who’s trying to get an international appointment despite his complete lack of skills. He’s already made it to the UN (last year), we’d love to find out what he’s up to this year.
The Comedy Knights shows are on from the 26th December until the 15th January. Hurry up and book your tickets now if you also want to watch your favourite characters in action!
