Good Messy Fun! Get Your Friends And Family Ready For Malta’s Most Instagrammable Day Out

Hundreds of athletes, friends, families and companies will gather at Manoel Island on October 6th for Malta’s most colourful run and walk ever. Colour My Run is a family-friendly walk and run that promotes exercise in a fun and lively way while also donating to local charity (and upping your Instagram game, of course).

And the best news is, you’re still in time to sign up!

It all starts in white…

Starting and ending at Manoel Island, Colour My Run participants will head off on a 5-kilometre run/walk/jog/dance in their customisable white t-shirts… but they certainly won’t be returning looking the same.

At certain designated stops along the route known as ‘arches’, participants will be splashed with brightly coloured powders. By the time they reach the finish line, they should look something like this:

All colour is biodegradable and harmless to nature, including the sea and the soil

Plus, they will have a cleaning team on the ready as soon as the event finishes. So there’s no fooling around here. Colour My Run is open to participants of all ages and abilities, including parents with strollers, runners, joggers or walkers, the aim is to complete this course as fast or slow as you like. There is no time to beat – as long as you’re having fun.

A percentage of money made from the sale of tickets will be going towards a local charity

And this year, they’re supporting Inspire and the incredible work they are doing to support children with disabilities and their families. Inspire will also be present at the event to entertain kids on the day with a bouncy castle and colouring station. Fitness instructors will be warming you up before the run/walk and your hosts, our DJ and Zumba instructors will be set up at Fort Manoel to greet participants as they return from their Colour Run.

If you’ve signed up already, be sure to collect your #RunHappy bag on Wednesday 2nd October between 5pm and 8pm at the Vodafone outlet on Birkirkara Bypass

And if you haven’t signed up yet – you’re still in time! There are also some pretty great deals for groups, kids, students and senior citizens.

Kids aged between five and 15 years old get to run for just €10. That’s less than the price of a meal for a day of fun and exercise with your kiddos.

Groups of 10 people or more can sign up for just €20 each, and students and senior citizens for the reduced price of €15. If you want to wait until you get to the event to get your tickets, there might be some left but this is subject to availability. Tickets at the door are going for €30 each, so you might want to think about booking your place before!

Participants are encouraged to dress up and customise their Colour My Run outfits

Ticket holders are entitled to park inside Manoel Island. Just show your wristband to security as you arrive. You would need to park outside and walk in if you don’t have your wristband. No food and drink besides water and isotonic are allowed inside the Fort, and participants are being asked to help keep the environment clean and tidy.

All participants will be given a tshirt, headscarf and medal – and everyone is encouraged to dress up in wigs, sunglasses, skirts, socks… anything you can think of!

Check out the Colour My Run Facebook page and event for updates. And send them over to your friends and family to get them to sign up.
