The db Foundation raised €8,419 for the Karl Vella Foundation by organising a dinner prepared by the three finalists from MasterChef Malta Season 2.

The Karl Vella Foundation provides support to families dealing with illness or loss.

The charity dinner was held at LOA Restaurant in St Paul’s Bay on June 4th. More than 100 guests enjoyed a specially curated three-course menu prepared by MasterChef Malta finalists Nicholas Bartolo, Florina Silvio and Christina Mousu – all for a good cause.

All the event costs were covered by the db Group, ensuring that every cent raised on the night went directly to the Karl Vella Foundation.

Founded in memory of Karl Vella, who lost his battle with cancer in 2014, the Foundation offers free psychological support and provides a safe haven for families to find comfort, share their stories, and forge connections with others who understand their experiences.

So far, it has supported more than 350 grieving adults and 700 children with a range of services.

“Our collaboration with MasterChef Malta has already raised over €20,000 for charity through two fund raising dinners and we shall look forward to sustaining this tradition in years to come. It’s incredible how much value we can create for hardworking NGOs when we rally the community for good causes,” said db Foundation chairperson Dr. Sandra Sladden.

A dinner organised last year by the three top finalists of MasterChef Seasons 1 raised funds for the Ursuline Sisters.

These events form part of the db Foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society through impactful initiatives.
