Dreams Of Independence: A Night Of Giving At LOA In Aid Of Dar tal-Providenza

LOA Malta is set to host Dreams of Independence, a special fundraising event organised by the db Foundation in aid of Dar tal-Providenza, which is celebrating 60 years as one of Malta’s most respected social care institutions.

Guests will gather on 29th November for an evening of exquisite food, music and a warm community spirit, all in the name of supporting independent living and dignity for people with disabilities.

Funds raised during the evening will specifically go towards helping Dar tal-Providenza complete and furnish a number of independent living residences in village communities across Malta and Gozo.

These homes are designed to allow persons with disabilities to live more autonomously – surrounded by neighbours and familiar social settings – rather than all being housed at the main Siġġiewi residence.

The project reflects Dar tal-Providenza’s long-standing vision of inclusion, equality and self-determination for its residents.

The db Foundation, the philanthropic arm of db Group, launched the initiative to bring people together around a shared cause: helping those who need it most.

Tickets for the event cost €80 per head, including an open bar and finger food starting at 8pm. All proceeds go directly to Dar tal-Providenza.

Founded in 2019, the db Foundation has supported a wide range of social initiatives, from education and health projects to poverty relief and disaster response. This latest collaboration underscores its ongoing commitment to social solidarity and its belief that businesses can – and should – play an active role in shaping a more caring society.

This year, among others, db Foundation has assisted charities like the Karl Vella Foundation, which provides educational and psychological support to families dealing with illness or loss and the Inspire Foundation, which helps people with disabilities reach their full potential through specialised therapy, education and inclusion programmes.

db Foundation Assists Inspire To Upgrade Facilities

Two specialised learning spaces at Inspire Malta have officially reopened with newly installed sound attenuation boards, following the successful completion of works funded by the db Foundation earlier this year.

The upgrade marks a significant milestone in the improvement of learning environments for autistic children enrolled in Inspires STEP IEI and STEP Forward programmes.

The rooms, located at Inspires Bulebel Centre, now offer a more supportive and calming environment that addresses the sensory sensitivities many autistic children face. Excessive noise can be a major source of stress for children on the autism spectrum, leading to anxiety, distraction and learning difficulties.

With these enhancements, children aged 3 to 6 are now benefiting from improved focus, emotional regulation, and engagement in their daily educational activities.
