Empowering Futures: The Lino Spiteri Foundation’s Head Start For Employment Programme
The Lino Spiteri Foundation, a Public Private Partnership with a powerful purpose, is working to create a more inclusive and equitable employment landscape. Dedicated to the sustainable employment of people with disabilities, the foundation has developed a cornerstone initiative to achieve its mission: the Head start for Employment programme.
More than just a course, this programme is a direct response to a fundamental need, designed to empower individuals with the confidence, skills and experience required to build a lasting career.
The programme offers a comprehensive and structured approach to professional development, boasting an MQF/EQF Level 4 accreditation. Over the course of 800 hours, participants are immersed in a curriculum that is both practical and holistic. They receive guidance on essential job search skills, learning how to write a professional CV and ace an interview. The curriculum also addresses the vital soft skills for success, covering work ethics and holistic wellbeing, which help foster a positive and resilient mindset.
To ensure a solid foundation for independent living, participants are also taught practical skills in basic finance, basic computer literacy and basic English. The experience also includes simulated work practice, where participants get to apply everything they’ve learned, transforming classroom knowledge into hands-on experience.
By focusing on tailored guidance, skills development and direct employer engagement, the foundation actively works to bridge the gap between job seekers and inclusive workplaces. Its mission is to do more than simply find people a job; it is to equip them for long-term career success. This approach not only empowers individuals to achieve their potential but also supports businesses in creating diverse and supportive work environments.
The Headstart for Employment programme is open to individuals aged 16 or over and are registered on the National Register for Persons with Disability. It is a full-time, in-person commitment, a testament to the foundation’s belief that true empowerment comes from dedicated, hands-on support.
For those ready to take a significant step towards a fulfilling career and a more independent future, the programme offers an unparalleled opportunity. To learn more about this initiative, visit the Lino Spiteri Foundation website or get in touch by phone on 22201761.
