Today’s youth are tomorrow’s future and companies worldwide understand that helping this demographic grow and succeed is key to maintaining their legacy.

But how many of them actively show support to the issues and challenges faced by the younger generation?

Mazars in Malta is pledging to support the initiatives of youth organisations and student associations that are working to harness the full potential of today’s youth.

As part of its 25th anniversary celebrations, Mazars in Malta announced the launch of a CSR scheme which will fund selected youth-based initiatives proposed by NGOs and student organisations, to the tune of €25,000.

The scheme involves supporting five youth-oriented NGOs and/or student associations over three years, with a financial contribution totalling €5,000 each, spread over this period.

It was launched at the inauguration of the new offices of Mazars in Malta by Minister for Finance and Employment Clyde Caruana. The event coincides with the commemoration of the 25th Anniversary of the presence in Malta of Mazars, the Paris- based international audit, accounting, tax, and advisory firm.

Speaking at the event Managing Partner Anthony Attard said the scheme, which will span over three years, “will mark Mazars’ established presence in Malta, further linking the firm to the local community, and its future with that of Malta’s youths.”

Mazars in Malta is encouraging such NGOs and associations to submit their proposals for youth-focused initiatives aimed at harnessing the potential of youth, and thus securing a better future for our society. The initiatives can focus on any of the following areas:

  •     leadership skills and problem solving
  •      education and training
  •      promotion of entrepreneurial initiatives
  •      overall well-being and/or counselling services
  •      digital progress and the use of innovative technologies
  •      addressing societal needs & challenges
  •      diversity and inclusion
  •      human rights
  •      gender equality
  •      social and cultural progress
  •      environment and sustainability
  •      green initiatives
  •      the arts
  •      sports

Interested applicants can apply here.

Further to filling in the online form, participating organisations must send any supporting material via email to [email protected]. This should also include a detailed breakdown of the budget and estimates for the project.

Applications are now open and will close on the 15th of June. The organisations and respective projects selected to benefit from this scheme will be communicated by the end of July 2023.

The funding made available by this scheme can be used to finance either a new or existing project intended to improve the future of youths in Malta.

Proposals will be judged on the following criteria: innovation, inspiration, creativity, effectiveness, feasibility, and above all, their impact on youth in the community.

Referring to the 25th Anniversary celebrations of Mazars in Malta, Attard explained that while such an event is always a special milestone for any organisation, “we see celebrating our quarter- century of operations as an opportunity to bridge the values and strengths which have defined our success, with the firm’s fundamental purpose and vision – that of continuing to create value together with our stakeholders, and investing in what matters the most for our people, our clients and the local community.

Hence the theme we have selected for these celebrations: ‘Growing with purpose together’

In his speech, Minister Caruana praised Mazars in Malta’s CSR scheme, auguring that youth and student organisations would come forward with proposals for initiatives for a better future for Malta’s youth. Minister Caruana also referred to the recently launched Strategy for the Financial Services sector, emphasising the contribution of the added-value generated by the sector towards the Maltese economy.
